Session devoted to TWISMA project has been held in the frame of international workshop for young scientists "Functional materials for technical and biomedical applications". This session took take place on September 20, 2023 in hybrid format in the Institute for Scintillation Materials of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. 49 participants (including 19 offline) took part at the workshop. Details on the workshop including the program are accessible at http://school.isma.kharkov.ua/
Three online lectures were made by the TWISMA partners:
In the lecture “Scintillator R&D for future HEP experiments” by Dr. Etiennette Auffray, CERN, she addressed the requirements to modern HEP calorimeterі, in particular, new stage of upgrade of high-luminosity calorimeters in CERN.
Prof. Oleg Sidletskiy, ISMA, in the lecture “Growth of bulk single crystals for HEP experiments” summarized the activity at ISMA in the field of development of crystal growth technologies for HEP.
Finally, the lecture “Single crystal fibers: realization and applications field” by Dr. Kheirreddine Lebbou, ILM/University of Lyon 1, addressed the technologies to grow crystalline scintillation fibers for applications in HEP and laser instruments.
